If you want the most of your THIQUE experience, beyond simply following the product directions on the bottle, check out these top 10 tips for making THIQUE work even better on your quest for volume.

#10 PREP FOR A GOOD NIGHTS SLEEP
They don’t call it beauty sleep for nothing!  A good night’s sleep helps everything from your overall health, stress level and skin to even how healthy your hair can be.  We know that rough brushing and back combing can disrupt those fragile hair cuticles and can cause breakage.  If you’re like most people in the modern world, you might toss and turn a bit as you try to get to sleep and even during sleep.  Before bed, and after you brush your teeth, brush out any tangles from your hair.  Start from the ends and work your way up with a wide tooth comb or gentle detangling brush.  Remember to be gentle as you brush or comb.

#9 INVEST IN A NICE SATIN OR SILK PILLOWCASE
Get rid of that cotton pillow! Cotton robs your hair of moisture while you sleep.  But a satin or silk pillowcase is gentler on your hair and can help reduce friction damage.  They also have an anti-aging effect for the skin – DOUBLE BONUS!

#8. STYLE YOUR HAIR – FOR SLEEPING!
To prevent tangles from forming while you sleep, causing breakage and frizzy hair, take advantage of a variety of hairstyles to wear while you sleep.  We promise, they will take mere minutes but do you a great benefit.  A loose bun, twists, braids or pigtails are protective hair styles that prevent hair from tangling during the night.  Just remember to keep it loose so you’re not pulling hair too tight from the scalp.  You can also “wrap” your hair by brushing all hair to one side and wrapping around your head until it’s flat against your head.  Secure with bobby pins and wear a satin scarf to keep it all in place.  The benefit of this “style” is that you can wake up with smooth, straight hair.

#7.  USE THIQUE SCALP SERUM BEFORE BED
THIQUE’s Scalp Serum is uniquely designed to exfoliate and nourish the scalp and can be applied to thin areas right before sleep.  This way, the product is left intact on the scalp where it can take more time to penetrate and do its job.  Plus, Scalp Serum features natural caffeine extracts which have been shown to create thicker, fuller looking hair diameter, stimulate hair shaft and promote hair growth.  Now having coffee before bed is okay - Sweet dreams!

#6.  COME TO TERMS WITH YOUR (HAIR) ENVIRONMENT
Noticing any itching or dryness of the scalp area?  See a fake or two on that black shirt?  Then you may suffer from what millions of women like you do – dandruff.  And dandruff can infect the hair follicle leading to hair loss and hair breakage. THIQUE Dry, Itchy Scalp Shampoo can sooth the scalp and reduce flakes.  But don’t stop there.  Evaluate your hair color routine as harsh treatments such as bleaching, hair coloring and relaxers can throw off the natural balance of the scalp, which can lead to dandruff. Discuss your treatment routine with your stylist to see if there are gentler options or if perhaps you need a color detox and break from the routine while you heal.

#5. MASSAGE DOESN’T STOP AT THE NECK
We recommend regular scalp massages to increase blood circulation and nourishment to your hair follicles. Scalp massages will also aid in a healthier balanced environment for hair to grow. Before you shower, massage your scalp with a teaspoon of an organic oil such as jojoba, argon or coconut oil.   Spend about five minutes massaging the oil into the scalp and work slowly, avoiding any pulling your hair. Once you’ve completed your scalp massage, shampoo the oil out with a sulfate free shampoo such as THIQUE Gentle Volumizing Shampoo.   Consider also treating yourself to a professional scalp massage – many spas offer this luxury treatment that’s also good for you.

#4.  CAUTION WHEN WET!
Hair is most fragile when wet, therefore it’s important to handle it with more care. To avoid unnecessary breakage, do not brush your hair while it’s soaking wet and instead brush before you shampoo.  Or wait until your hair is damp. Use a cotton t-shirt to dry off your hair instead of a towel as cotton t-shirts are much gentler and help prevent tangles.

#3. YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT
An unhealthy diet can impact your physical health as well as your skin, hair and nails.  Maintaining a diet of lean proteins, fruits and vegetables can help you from the inside out to create healthy hair.  Avoid crash diets or yo-yo dieting as starving yourself or a lack of consistent healthy foods can actually contribute to hair loss.  When your body does not receive enough nutrients, it goes into ‘conservation mode’ and instead depletes muscle mass and your body’s natural moisture, impacting hair, skin and nail health.

#2. WATER WITH A SIDE OF WATER
Drinking enough water is also essential to cell growth. Your body is primarily 80% water and without enough of it, your hair’s natural growth cycle can slow down. Try to drink 8 cups of water a day. A water bottle at your side all day – whether in the car, at your desk or while watching TV can help you keep drinking water a top priority.

#1. CONSULT YOUR PHYSICIAN
Your overall health can affect how your hair grows. To get the best rewards when growing your hair, have regular checkups with your healthcare professional to address any underlying problems such as a thyroid disorders or hormonal imbalances.
Most of all, remember this is a journey to thicker looking hair and can take some time before you see results.  There are no magical cures, just a combination of good products and healthy lifestyle.
